REAL LIVE SPUMCO BIGSHOTS!

Today at 4 in Santa Monica, John Kricfalusi, Katie Rice, Vincent Waller, Eddie Fitzgerald, and other SPUMCO bigshots will be signing artwork and shooting the shit with us plebians! I am very very excited about this. These guys are the real deal.
After that across the street at the Aero Theatre, there will be a 2 hour John K retrospective, screening tons of banned and never before seen cartoons!
Also, as if that werent enough, John K's band will be playing! OMGWTFBBQ!

If you live in L.A., come check it out! Click here for info.

UPDATE!

Just got home. Julia, Raiden, and I went to the gallery, where we go to check out a bunch of original Spumco artwork, and meet John K and Katie Rice. I bought a print that they both signed, and John went the extra mile and drew a kickass caricature of the three of us! I credit Julia for that one, since she was sweet enough to ask John for the caricature as a bit of a surprise for me.

After the gallery, I headed across the street for the retrospective screening, which John and Jerry Beck of Cartoon Brew hosted. Two hours of banned and unseen Spumco cartoons! i got to see a bunch of shorts that ive been dying to see for a while now.

Finally toward the end of the night, I drove up to the valley to John K's house for a party that he had invited us to at the gallery. I got to drink beers and hang with a bunch of real cartoonists.
Got home at around 2 and did a little drawing, to pay respect to the cartoon gods who smiled upon me today.

sorry about the dodgy quality of these photos... they were captured with my crummy webcam.

On to the next

Such is the life of a nomadic animator, not unlike the ninja mercenary, flipping from shadow to shadow; contract to contract.
I had a really great time working at the Jim Henson Company, and gained some pretty valuable experience in my short time there. The bit of animation we did turned out looking pretty good, so whenever its out of non-disclosure, maybe Ill find a way to post it here. Hopefully they'll have more work for me in the near future.

Halon called me yesterday to help previs a sequence in a movie called The Kingdom, written by Michael Mann and directed by Peter Berg.
