Update

Yup. Still on Bond.

However for a bit of a change of pace, I picked up some freelance work last weekend with a couple other animators, and got to animate Lisa Simpson and Professor Frink for the Simpsons ride at Universal Studios Florida opening this spring.

The Kingdom

The Kingdom, produced by Michael Mann and directed by Peter Berg releases this month. I spent a couple weeks on this one doing previs for a caravan wreck sequence, which you can see some of toward the end of this trailer.

Here is a crummy cel phone photo of the veritable aquatic wonderland that sits atop my desk at work! Witness the majesty!
Housed in an Eclipse Hex 5 Tank are two amazon sword plants, three other plants I dont know the name of, a marimo moss ball, two very aggressive dwarf puffers, two ghost shrimp, two kuhli loaches, one panda cory, and a horde of assorted snails that burrow into the substrate.

John Kricfalusi Says The Darndest Things

"An animator who really observes life in its unfettered reality has a way of making every character have a little bit of retardation in him. Even cute characters have some primitive animal needs and this is always reflected in good animation."

- John K.

Evan Almighty

Evan Almighty came out today. I was a previs artist on this movie.
The funnest part about working on this show was tooling around the Universal backlot with total freedom. Here's some photos.

Right outside my door. At night, I could see a greenish glow inn the distance, that I think was coming from a window in the Psycho house. There were a few occasions where I was the last to leave the office late at night, and seeing that glow coming from a window where Norman Bates' mother sits in a rocking chair creeped me out.

Bates Motel. What the people on the trams passing by cant see is a dead woman prop stuffed in the trunk of the car.

This very rubber shark instilled a mortal terror of the ocean within me for most of my life. Here it is getting its oil changed.

Future Chuck

My old buddy Charles has been in China for the last couple months, basically terrorizing the asian countryside on a motorcycle. Of course, he's been blogging the whole deal, so check it out!

Interesting fact about Charlie:

He was the lead character in Leprechaun 2 (not to be confused with Leprechaun: Back 2 Tha Hood, which is actually Leprechaun 6, or the sequel to Leprechaun 5: Lep In Tha Hood). He smashes the poo out of Warwick Davis! I kid you not.
